Newspaper, cardboard, fireplace ashes, leaves/yard trimmings, hay & straw, fruits & vegetables, sawdust & wood chips, egg shells & nut shells, rags (cotton/wool). What Not to Compost: metal, glass, and other products that do not easily break down, coal or charcoal ash, diseased plants,
Recycle These: Paper, Plastic Containers, Metal Cans & Cups, Glass Bottles & Jars No batteries. Batteries can cause fires in collection vehicles and recycling facilities. What items cannot be recycled at drop-offs or curbside? Batteries & HHW, plastic yard furniture/toys, scrap metal, construction materials, pizza boxes or styrofoam, rubbish, furniture, toys, clothing, plastic bags No tanglers. Tanglers such as holiday lights and garden hoses clog the equipment and present a danger to workers. Recycling Rules are Important! No large items. Large items can cause injury to workers on the recycling lines.
